About the workshop
Osteoporosis and fractures in patients over 50 go largely untreated. In this new workshop, facilitators will provide you with best practices as outlined in the 2023 updated clinical practice guideline for management of osteoporosis and fracture prevention in Canada, and actionable tools for screening, diagnosing and optimizing care.
Our next workshop will take place on October 14, 2026.
Learning Objectives
- Recognize and describe the impact of osteoporotic fracture and the current care gap including barriers and facilitators of quality care
- Apply an evidence-based approach to fracture risk assessment and reassessment
- Implement nutrition, exercise and pharmacological strategies for patients at high risk of fractures, including shared decision-making and self management

This activity has been certified by the College of Family Physicians of Canada and the Ontario Chapter For 1 credit per hour for up to 6 Mainpro+® Certified Activity credits
Workshop Details
Delivery Format : Online
Cost: $195+ HST
*A reflective follow-up meeting will also be available for participants to join 4-6 weeks after the workshop. This 1 hour session offers a chance to revisit challenges and successes after real-world implementation, allowing participants to clarify questions or uncertainties that arose in their workflow. Attendance is not mandatory but participants can gain an additional 1.0 credits from attending.
