What is Mainpro+?
Mainpro+ is the CFPC’s professional development program for family physicians. It is the only CPD program recognized by the CFPC for Certification maintenance.
How many credits do I need per cycle?
You need a minimum of 25 certified credits and 50 non-certified credits (total 75 credits) per five-year cycle.
What is the difference between certified and non-certified credits?
Certified activities are pre-approved by the CFPC and carry a set credit value. These include OCFP webinars, workshops and conferences that display the Mainpro+ logo.
Non-certified credits are self-reported learning activities such as reading journals, case-based learning, peer discussion or online modules from non-CFPC-accredited sources.
How do I log my credits?
Log credits directly through your CFPC member account at cfpc.ca. Keep certificates and documentation for your records.
Do OCFP events offer Mainpro+ credits?
Many OCFP educational events are certified for Mainpro+ credits. Each event listing on this site clearly indicates the number and type of credits available.
What happens if I don’t meet my credit requirements?
If you do not meet your Mainpro+ requirements, the CFPC will contact you to develop a remediation plan. Maintaining good standing requires timely credit reporting.
