• The Primary Care Clinician Educational Seriesby the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the University of Toronto is designed to provide primary care clinicians with the knowledge and skills to lead quality improvement work in their practice. The new 1-credit per hour Self-Learning program is certified by the College of Family Physicians of Canada for up to 6 Mainpro+ credits.

• Ontario Renal Network has transitioned to use the race free Chronic Kidney Disease Epidemiology Collaboration (CKD-EPI) 2021 equation to calculate estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR). Read clinician resource and patient resource.

Studies

• Alliance for Healthier Communities is sharing a research study focused on social prescribing in primary care settings, specifically investigating the barriers and facilitators that influence primary care providers’ engagement with social prescribing programs. Participate here.
• Researchers from the Computational Health and Interaction (CHAI) Lab at the University of Toronto are conducting a study on the impact of AI scribes on primary care practices. Learn more here.
• Audiology-Primary Care Partnership: Focus Group Study (Deadline: September 1, 2026) – As individuals grow older, the prevalence of hearing loss increases, however the condition is regularly overlooked and identification, treatment, and management, are regularly delayed for many years. Growing research evidence showing the impacts of untreated hearing loss on the physical, mental, and social wellbeing of older adults. By prompting the conversation about hearing loss in primary care settings and connecting patients to audiologists, there is great potential to vastly improve quality of life.
  • This online focus group study seeks to bring together family doctors, nurse practitioners, audiologists, and other allied healthcare providers to discuss how they can work together to better support adults living with hearing loss. Volunteer

• Toronto Metropolitan University is looking for feedback on a framework for a new program entitled, Transition To Practice Pearls for Physicians, aimed at providing physicians with resources around non-clinical topics that optimize practice efficiency, prevent burnout, aid in billing and AI integration in practice, and more.
