Biography

Dr. Bjug Borgundvaag is the Director of the Schwartz/Reisman Emergency Medicine Institute (SREMI) at Sinai Health System.

He is an Associate Professor and Clinician Scientist in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the University of Toronto. Prior to clinical training, he completed a PhD in Pharmacology at the University of Toronto, and is the Chair of Sinai Health System’s Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee.

Dr. Borgundvaag has spent the last 20 years researching and teaching the Emergency Department management of alcohol withdrawal, including the development of an iOS App to assess tremor, and e-learning modules to assist clinicians with this competency.
